Low Shutdown PWM Controllers MAX17290 and MAX17292
In critical applications such as regulation of distributed power supplies, offline, telecom and other applications, PWM boost controllers are vitally important in a project. MAXIM has two regulators for this purpose with low shutdown current and reduced EMI characteristics that must be mitigated when performing a project. In this article we focus on two new Maxim components available from Mouser Electronics that are of great importance for projects that require boost converters with special features. We are talking about MAX17290 and MAX17292 from Maxim that have a shutdown current of only 4 uA and can operate at 2.5 to 36 V voltages at 2.5 MHz. The input voltage range of these integrated circuits ranges from 4.5 to 35 V and the transient protection voltage is 45 V.
